Name art

This was one of those projects which was supposed to be done in a breeze but in reality turned out to be....... difficult.

Too time consuming and too frustrating.

I changed the design, the colours even the frame till I was satisfied with the result.

I drew out the letters on stiff drawing paper, colored with a marker (at least 3-4 times), gave a coat of clear nail varnish and then cut it out very carefully.

My  fence, I did on drawing paper and cut  it out.

The flowers on scrapbook paper.

This was one of the versions I did.

It was okay but too simple.

Quickie craft- Birds nest pendant

I needed a break from tatting.

 So I did this pendant.

I used galvanised steel wire (from ace hardware).

I also dabbed a bit of purple nail polish because Miss A loves purple.

And while it was drying,  I crocheted an embroidery thread for the necklace.

Total time 10 minutes.

It took me more time to write this than making the pendant!!!!

Now I'lI probably have to make more for my other daughters.

Carrot crumb cake

I had carrots, so I made a carrot cake.

But I wanted a healthy version without the cream cheese frosting and too many eggs.

Did a bit of searching on line and came across  this recipe.

I did make a few changes though.

Instead of 2 cups of flour,  I did 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of wheat flour.

And in the crumb mixture,  I added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder.

The cake came out very soft and absolutely yummylicious.

This recipe is definitely a keeper.
